The Spring Fashion Show is a collaboration between the Sustainable Fashion Club (SFC) and Fashion, Innovation, Trends, and Styles (FITS), giving Cal Poly designers and artists the opportunity to showcase their unique talents and celebrate their creativity, diversity, and sustainability efforts. This event provides a way for students to gain hands-on experience in the fashion industry while promoting responsible fashion practices. Regardless of prior experience, the fashion show gives student designers the chance to embrace self-expression and diverse body types through their original designs. The Spring Fashion Show is also largely devoted to raising awareness about the environmental and ethical consequences of fast fashion and encouraging more mindful shopping and production choices. 

SFC and FITS are given the chance to work across multiple disciplines to gain hands-on experience in event planning, fashion design, marketing, finance, and set design, making this a multifaceted event with tangible impacts for students. Additionally, by inviting local sustainable brands and ethical designers to participate, we hope to build networking opportunities that support student career growth. By giving students from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to share a passion for artistry with purpose, we are able to strengthen our community engagement beyond the Spring Fashion Show. Serving as a launching pad for aspiring designers and entrepreneurs, we want to give everyone a space to showcase their work, connect with collaborators, and build confidence in their craft. 

With funding, we can create this opportunity for student designers to showcase their talents and create lasting memories for the Cal Poly community while promoting sustainable fashion practices. Beyond the 23 student designers and their runway models, there are upwards of 40 planners working to make the event as seamless as possible. The funds from Cal Poly crowdfunding will allow us to market this event to the Cal Poly community and beyond. Additionally, it will allow student designers the support they need to make their visions come to life and will support a set design that brings the entire show to life.
