About Multicultural Business Program: 

Multicultural Business Program (MBP) is a diverse and inclusive community for students by students where they matter, belong, and with the proper professional support, are connected to resources to persist in their careers. Our program provides personal, academic, and career development services for traditionally under-served and historically underrepresented minority students of all abilities. 

 

MBP envisions an Orfalea College of Business experience where students, regardless of their identity or background are engaged and prepared for personal, academic and professional success. MBP’s mission is to promote the recruitment, retention and success of traditionally underserved and historically underrepresented students in business. 

 

Leadership Beyond the Resume: 

Leadership Beyond the Resume (LBTR) is a one-day conference held by the Multicultural Business Program in winter quarter that focuses on preparing emerging leaders from historically underrepresented backgrounds for the opportunities and challenges that they will face in their careers.  

 

This year, MBP’s goal is to enhance the overall quality of LBTR for our students. This includes developing interactive workshops and inviting speakers who will share their inspiring stories about the challenges they are currently facing in regards to growing as a professional and the hardships of coming from a marginalized background. Our hope is that the speakers will shed light on the relationship of these topics and others while providing insights and advice to students who will also soon be in similar situations.
