With travel increasingly limited and classes moving exclusively to remote instruction, the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 has severely impacted all Cal Poly students. Many students – whether they remain on campus, in San Luis Obispo or at their permanent homes – are suddenly without a job and disconnected from social support systems amidst concerns over their own health and the wellbeing of those around them. Now, more than ever, Cal Poly is committed to addressing the need to work to ensure the health, comfort & security of all students.
We are asking for your help by supporting the Cal Poly Cares Student Emergency Fund, which helps students who have experienced economic disruption sustain themselves during this time. Funds raised will go toward supplying food, housing, healthcare services, and other basic needs students may be struggling to afford due to job loss.
Cal Poly Cares has played an instrumental part in helping students stay on the path to success. Just recently, we were notified of a student who had been living out of his car. In just a few short days, the Student Emergency Fund provided him with food, housing, and helped cover a variety of other basic needs to ensure that he is safe and healthy.
Thank you in advance for making a difference in the lives of students during this difficult time and showcasing the positive impact of the Cal Poly Community.
