About Cal Poly Women’s Lacrosse
We are the Cal Poly Women’s Lacrosse Club, and we need your help to fund our season! Our lacrosse team is made up of a group of 60 competitive and dedicated girls who love to play! We compete regionally in both Division I and Division II of the Western Women's Lacrosse League (WWLL) and nationally in the Women's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (WCLA). The D1 team has attended the WCLA National Championship tournament for over 10 years, and won 7 consecutive titles from 2001-2008. 2021 is the year for us to bring home another national championship, and we need your help to do so!
Why Donate?
As a club sports team, we are responsible for self funding all costs for a five month long season. This can add up to a hefty amount as we need to cover the cost of league dues, tournament entrance fees, goals/nets, team apparel, pinnies for new members, referees and trainers for home games, hotels and busses for tournaments and playoffs, coaches fees, and finally flights to nationals. This year we are traveling out of state for both playoffs and nationals.
In addition, we have two exciting developments that we have accomplished thanks to our prior fundraising efforts. First, along with our returning DII coach, we have hired a coach for our DI team! Having these two leaders will help us to continue to propel our program to new levels of success. Second, for the first time in our program’s history, all 60 players will be receiving new uniforms! With these costs, we are estimating our season to cost around $70,000.
Because we are a club sports team and are not funded by Cal Poly, players must pay season dues out of pocket to play the sport that we love so much. Our goal every year is to keep costs for players as low as possible, and with donations from our fans we are able to do so. We appreciate donations of any kind, and thank you for your continuing support. Go Mustangs!
A gift of $20 will cover the cost of pinnies for a player to wear at practice.
Your $50 gift will cover the cost of gas to travel to one away game.
A generous gift of $100 will cover the cost of a trainer for one home game.
A gift of $200 will cover the cost of a one-night stay at a hotel. Help our players rest up before away games!
A generous $500 gift will fully cover the cost of gear for 4 of our players.
Your $750 gift will cover the cost of referees for a single home game.
A gift of $1000 would allow our team to participate is one tournament. Help us show the other teams what we're made of!
A $1,500 gift will cover half of the cost of one of our coaches' salaries. Go Mustangs!
