Byzantium - Thank You for Helping us Reach our Goal!

December 14, 2020

With a little under a week to go we are thrilled to announce we have already reached our $1,000 goal! We truly cannot thank our donors enough. This money will be essential for not only funding the newly created art contest, but for general printing costs of the journal.

To those still on the fence of donating, we strongly encourage you to please still give. Additional money we raise will again help with printing costs. As well as allow us to leave a small cushion for next year's editors to have, which will help to ensure the journal's literary legacy.

Once again, we want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated and help us reach our fundraising goal, your kindness and generosity have not gone unnoticed!

An Update on Byzantium!

November 30, 2020

Firstly, we want to extend a big thank you to the people who have so far generously donated $615 of our $1000. We appreciate this immensely and the overall support we have received thus far on the project. As we are approaching the end of the campaign on December 19th, we wanted to share some exciting updates about how the project is going so far!

The Fall submission window has closed for our journal and we are eagerly preparing to read the submissions over the month of December. We have also continued the tradition started by last year’s Editorial Team and have taken on a team of talented readers to help us read through and select the submissions for this year’s edition of the journal.

A BYZANTIUM FIRST: We are currently in the process of creating an art contest to go along with the Kevin Clark Poetry and Alfred Landwehr Fiction writing contests. This means cash prizes will be awarded to the creators of the winning art submissions, with the exact same anonymity, judging, and overall freedom we approach the writing contests with. This year we are really trying to go above and beyond with the artistic side of the journal, so we hope you understand our purpose and verve behind the crowdfunding campaign.

Once more, we want to extend our thanks to all of our current donors. This project has been a tradition that we are very proud and honored to continue, and your donations, no matter the size, truly help the journal, and we cannot express our gratitude enough!
