Support New Adventures for the Sailing Team (January 2022)

Cal Poly Sailing is a club sport team that competes in intercollegiate races against other West Coast universities and provides hands-on sailing experience for Cal Poly students. We are a member of the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference, an intercollegiate sailing delegation that hosts competitions at various campuses throughout the West Coast. This allows us to travel throughout California and even nationwide for certain regattas and national competitions. 

As our team is a club sport, we focus heavily on preparing team members to compete at the collegiate level, honing skills and tactics used when racing against other teams. However, one of the primary appeals of the Cal Poly Sailing Team is our developmental components, where we give Cal Poly students with little or no sailing experience the opportunity to learn foundational sailing skills. We accept all students interested regardless of their experience level, hosting clinics and developmental practices to get students out on the water. The cost of participation for students is extremely low when compared to other sailing institutions as our team covers travel fees, boat maintenance, and other costs associated with our sport. As equipment maintenance and purchases are costly, as well as the costs of traveling to our competitions, we are extremely grateful for the opportunities this crowdfunding campaign gives us!
