At KCPR, we truly believe that different matters. You can make a difference today with a donation to support the upcoming generation of KCPR students.

KCPR has been a staple of culture, music, and news serving Cal Poly and the San Luis Obispo area since 1968 — even a global pandemic couldn’t stop us. Now, we are back in the station and better than ever. We’d like to welcome our donors, alumni, parents, students, and staff to a new era of KPCR. 

Our students and staff focus on bringing you the best content on-air, online, and on campus. We would like your help in supporting our students in their endeavors. Over half of KCPR students have a second job to pay their bills. 

On average, KCPR student managers work for KCPR upwards of 20 hours a week, yet our budget only allows them to be paid for 5 hours a week.

With your help, we can financially support our students so they can focus on their passions and future careers. Usher us into the new era of KCPR by allowing our students to dedicate their time to finding the best music, diving into the latest news, and promoting our local businesses. 

Running a radio station is a costly and time-consuming venture, our state-of-the-art equipment needs to be updated constantly which can cost tens of thousands of dollars a year. Our donors have kept this station running for decades, and we’d like to thank you for your continued support with exclusive 2022 pledge drive donor gifts!

The first $1,600 raised will be matched by our beloved alumni Len Filomeo and Earl Ruby.
