Due to overwhelming support, we are increasing our fundraising goal to $7,500! Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to our campaign thus far. Hitting our $5,000 goal helps significantly reduce the cost for each student attending the competition, and if we can raise $7,500 our students' hotels and daily transportation to the competition site in New York will be covered completely. Every contribution helps make the competition more accessible and affordable for our student members, and we cannot thank you enough for your donations!
The Cal Poly Racing Baja SAE team is heading full throttle towards our first in-person competition since 2019 this June, and we need your help to get there!
We are the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Cal Poly chapter and we design, build, and test a single-seater off-road racecar for competition in the Baja SAE International Collegiate Design Series each year. We compete against schools around the nation and the world in design, sales, and dynamic events judged by industry professionals. Cal Poly Racing allows us to combine our knowledge from the classroom and hands-on experiences in the machine shops to create elite racing vehicles with impressive capabilities.
Each year the Cal Poly Racing team places highly amongst teams from across the world, and we are eager to get back on the racetrack to compete wheel-to-wheel with our competitors for the first time in 3 years. Despite the virtual format of the 2020 and 2021 competitions, our teams placed well in the design and business sectors, and we are eager to see our vehicle in action on the East Coast!
We are currently fundraising in order to send our students and vehicles to compete in the Baja SAE competition in Rochester, New York in June. We greatly appreciate the continued support from our alumni, families, friends, and industry partners, and we are thankful for all amounts of monetary support we receive.
If you know you know. For all of the little things that you forget about when doing a project such as those random nuts and bolts.
Diesel is not cheap these days and it will take quite a bit of it in order to transport our cars to Rochester.
Sleep is important for everyone, but during a competition, getting adequate sleep is especially important to ensure peak performance come race day.
New York is really far away from sunny San Luis Obispo! Sponsor a flight for a team member.
You're the best! This will enable us to take more people to competition, which is one of the best learning opportunities for students on the team.
