Cal Poly Racing (November 2022)
The Cal Poly Racing Baja SAE and Formula SAE teams are heading full throttle towards our first in-person competition since 2019 this June, and we need your help to get there!
We are the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Cal Poly chapter and we design, build, and test a single-seater off-road racecar, a Formula combustion car, and Formula electric car for competition in the Baja and Formula SAE International Collegiate Design Series each year. We compete against schools around the nation and the world in design, sales, and dynamic events judged by industry professionals. Cal Poly Racing allows us to combine our knowledge from the classroom and hands-on experiences in the machine shops to create elite racing vehicles with impressive capabilities.
Each year the Cal Poly Racing team places highly amongst teams from across the world, and we are eager to get back on the racetrack to compete wheel-to-wheel with our competitors for the first time in 3 years. Despite the virtual format of the 2020 and 2021 competitions, our teams placed well in the design and business sectors, and we are eager to see our vehicle in action on the East Coast!
We are currently fundraising in order to send our students and vehicles to compete in the Baja SAE competition in Rochester, New York and the Formula SAE competition in Michigan. We greatly appreciate the continued support from our alumni, families, friends, and industry partners, and we are thankful for all amounts of monetary support we receive.
