Cal Poly Distance Club
One of the largest, most memorable undertakings for Cal Poly Distance Club is our annual trip to Nationals. Last Fall our men's team placed an impressive 2nd place in the nation. It was also the first time in our club's history that we were able to race a full women's team at Nationals.
This year we hope to build on our success and go for the championship and you can help!
Because the race is always held in the eastern United States, traveling is a huge expense. These expenses include airfare, hotels, rental cars, and our team dinner. Prior to 2021, the club brought 8 athletes to race at Nationals (seven men and one woman). For the past two seasons, we increased this number to a total of 24 athletes (12 men and 12 women), raising costs greatly.
Our club is growing, in competition and community, and we would love to continue to offer this incredible opportunity to 24 athletes, but we need your support. Our club team is supported almost entirely by donations and fundraising and the generosity of our donors enables us to continue to succeed at a high level.
You donation directly impacts students in the Cal Poly Distance Club, and the Learn by Doing opportunities and memories made by being part of a club sport. Thank you for your consideration in helping our team rank nationally next year and for years to come!
$15 will cover the cost of team dinner for one of our athletes.
$100 will cover the cost of one night in a hotel room for 4 athletes.
$200 will cover the cost of a rental car for one day.
