Help Us Build an Exoskeleton for a Student With a Spinal Cord Injury.

The EMPOWER Lower Limb Exoskeleton Assist Project

The mission of Lower-Limb Exoskeleton Assist Project (LLEAP) is to develop a robotic exoskeleton for an individual in need. We strive to build technology that will improve someone's quality of life while teaching students and learning along each step of the way.

Aiming for completion in 2024, LLEAP is currently designing and building an exoskeleton for a student with a spinal cord injury, with the goal of providing mobility assistance and improved quality of life. This project is a Learn by Doing opportunity for engineers to develop practical solutions to real-life problems occurring in the surrounding community.

With your generous support, we will be able to work toward our goal of creating a functional prototype!

Choose a giving level

This level helps us pay for raw materials used in the manufacturing process for the exoskeleton.

This level helps us fabricate an important mechanical part of the exoskeleton, bringing us closer to our goal of creating a functional prototype.

This level helps us purchase a critical component of the exoskeleton, such as a motor or a sensor.

This level will help us assemble a critical subsystem, such as the leg actuators, bringing us significantly closer to the completion of our project.
