Cal Poly Strength and Conditioning is an integral part of Cal Poly Athletics, impacting all 21 programs and over 550 student-athletes that train year-round. The weight room is the only space that every student-athlete will utilize during their career here at Cal Poly.
Nine years ago – with your help – we were able to update the weight room, but with heavy daily use, the equipment has done its job and it's time for another refresh!
"While its grit is familiar and charming to those of us who have poured our sweat and tears into the weight room, we are well aware of the intense wear and tear that comes with it, so we are asking for your help to make a few improvements."
—Sara Mackenzie, Assistant Athletic Director for Strength and Conditioning
Support student-athlete core strength, promote better balance, and cultivate coordination with new medicine balls. Plyo boxes improve an athlete’s vertical, allowing them to jump even higher.
A staple in each weight room, push and pull weight sleds provide several different workout combinations for student-athletes to increase their strength.
Dumbbells are needed for full-body, multiplanar movements, allowing athletes to target specific muscle groups.
Bolster our facility by adding weight plates to our Prowler Sled, which will increase resistance and challenge our athletes.
The harder you pedal, the greater the resistance. This workout bike scales automatically to how hard you want to work.
Provide student athletes with a flat, solid, and safer platform to lift on while protecting the floors of the weight room from heavy weights.
