The Cal Poly Racing Formula SAE team is heading full throttle towards our competition season, and we need your help to get there!
We are the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Cal Poly Chapter and we design, build, and test two race cars for competition in the Formula SAE and Formula Electric SAE International Collegiate Design Series each year. We compete against schools around the nation and the world in design, sales, and dynamic events judged by industry professionals. Cal Poly Racing allows us to combine our knowledge from the classroom and hands-on experiences in machine shops to create elite racing vehicles with impressive capabilities.
Each year the Cal Poly Racing team places highly amongst teams from across the world, and we're eager to get back on the racetrack to compete wheel-to-wheel with our competitors. Last year our team had one of our best years to date with Formula IC placing 6th overall, and Formula EV placing 19th overall and winning the cost event.
We are currently fundraising to send our students and vehicles to compete in our two SAE competitions in Michigan this May and June. We greatly appreciate the continued support from our alumni, families, friends, and industry partners, and we are thankful for all amounts of monetary support we receive.
If you know you know. For all of the little things that you forget about when doing a project such as those random nuts and bolts.
Diesel is not cheap these days and it will take quite a bit of it in order to transport our cars to Michigan.
Sleep is important for everyone, but during a competition, getting adequate sleep is especially important to ensure peak performance come race day.
Getting to our competitions is no small task and will require transportation via cars and planes to get each team member from California to Michigan.
You're the best! This will enable us to take more people to competition, which is one of the best learning opportunities for students on the team.
