The Music Department introduces a student to the role of music in today’s world, helps form personal goals, and provides the discipline, skills and knowledge to accomplish those goals.
Cal Poly Summer Music Camp, hosted by the Music Department July 17-20, is a four-day immersive experience for exceptional high school musicians who sing or play instruments. While the mission is to provide high-quality collaborative musical opportunities in choral, band and string ensembles, it also brings to our campus students who may be considering music as a major field of study. Participants will Learn by Doing as they rehearse and prepare for a public concert. The schedule will include:
Many past participants have had limited access to resources or have other hardships, so funds raised will provide very meaningful benefit. The department endeavors to minimize costs, but housing, meals and staffing are all substantial. Thank you for considering your support of this amazing program which fosters future generations’ interest in pursuing a musical education.
Support the Music Department today, and help us continue to embody Learn by Doing through our program that develops musical skills, encourages creativity, and cultivates vision for the future!
