Space Grand Challenge

The California Cybersecurity Institute team would like to raise money to promote student cybersecurity training, purchase jerseys, and additional prizes related to the Space Grand Challenge (SGC). The SGC is a fully Cal Poly student built capture the flag competition that is opened up annually for players from middle and high school. It tests students’ skills around cybersecurity, IT, as well as their space knowledge. 

In 2023, the SGC had 702 players nationwide, a high-water mark. The CCI students would like to exceed that number through the use of jerseys, prizes, and more promotional materials at conferences nationwide. Jerseys for Cal Poly students will also help further socialize the hard work of CCI students around campus.

At the CCI, we firmly believe that to solve our national cybersecurity workforce challenges requires us to not only prepare students in college, but to also inspire kids throughout K-12 on the exciting opportunities available to them in cyber.
