Help the Computing Club Collaborative Host a Haunted House!

The Computing Club Collaborative (also known as the CCC) is an initiative created by club leadership of the computing clubs at Cal Poly SLO. Our goal is to bridge the gap between the different student organizations by bringing our members together for fun, community-building events. Our representatives come from clubs such as Women Involved in Software and Hardware, Computer Engineering Society, Cal Poly Security Club, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, ColorStack, and Google Developer Student Club. Our diverse club representation gives us a wide reach across the computing community and allows us to execute larger events that would be difficult for a single club to put on, while also fostering cross-club collaboration!

Our inaugural event, a trivia night, had over 100 attendees and was well-received by the student population (we even had some professors join the fun). For our second event, we created an escape room, complete with a comedic storyline, puzzles, and a competition element where the team with the fastest escape time would win a prize. We had 84 slots for that event and filled every single one! 

For our third event, in the spirit of Halloween, we are planning to host a haunted house as a part of our Halloween celebration. This will be our most ambitious project yet and funding would help us purchase the materials, lighting/sound equipment, props, and costumes necessary to make this event as immersive and exciting as possible. Preparing for this event will allow the members of the Computing Club Collaborative to use the skills they have learned here at Cal Poly and apply them to a real-world experience— an amazing Learn By Doing opportunity!
