To all who come here to support student innovation, welcome! CAPED strives to launch our ambitious students to new heights and we need your support to do it!
We are the Cal Poly Amusement Park Engineers and Designers, also known as CAPED, an academic club dedicated to the mission of equipping students of all majors with the knowledge, skills, and connections necessary to flourish in the themed entertainment industry, which encompasses everything from museums to zoos and theme parks. We provide our students with a myriad of interdisciplinary opportunities from our national Ride Engineering Competition, which ranks within the top 5 teams in the nation, to our industry backed architectural competitions. Aligned with Cal Poly’s motto, we are ardent supporters of Learn by Doing.

In order for us to continue to provide these invaluable career-building opportunities, we need your help with funding our supplies, travel, and other maintenance costs. Our Ride Engineering Competition team, which consists of over 40 engineers and designers, requires us to design and manufacture a scale amusement attraction that adheres to real industry standards, and then transport it across the country to our competition in Ohio. Additionally, our new animatronic project involves us constructing a fully functional Disney-style robot, which requires a significant number of electronic and chassis parts. With so many highly technical and corporate-partnered projects, your donation is crucial in helping us reach the levels of academic and vocational success we strive for.
