The Cal Poly Debate Team is thrilled to announce an incredible opportunity to represent our university and California at the Campeonato Mundial Universitario de Debate en Español (CMUDE)—the premier international Spanish-language debate championship. This prestigious event brings together the strongest university students from the Spanish-speaking world to tackle critical social, political, and economic issues through rigorous parliamentary debate.
CMUDE is more than a competition; it’s a platform where students refine their skills in research, collaboration, and critical thinking while fostering cross-cultural understanding and dialogue. Participation showcases not only the talent of Cal Poly students but also our commitment to bilingual advocacy and global citizenship.
Building on our legacy of Spanish-language excellence through our Legados program—the only civic advocacy event in Spanish in the U.S.—and the ESPANYODL virtual debate circuit, the Cal Poly Debate Team is ready to take the next step: representing diverse California voices on the world stage at CMUDE.
