Cal Poly Andaaz is a non-audition, co-ed, Indian fusion dance team. Students learn and practice a variety of dance styles from across Indian and Western cultures. From groovy hip-hop to energy-filled Bhangra to graceful contemporary, our dancers can do it all! We have previously performed at Illuminate, Cal Poly’s largest dance showcase, and various events hosted by the Indian Student Association, so we’ve put in the work, and we hope to take our dancing to a larger scale!
Andaaz hopes to turn into a competitive dance team by next year, and we are taking the first step by competing at Nachle Deewani, an Indian fusion dance competition hosted by UC Santa Barbara. Ultimately, Andaaz hopes to join the Desi Dance Network (DDN) and compete nationally against over 150 other collegiate Indian fusion teams. Andaaz’s dancers have been working incredibly hard to get their set together, however, they need your help to turn into a competitive team!
Competing can be incredibly expensive for all of our dancers, costing hundreds of dollars for each dancer. We hope to lift the financial burden for our dancers so that our hours of practice can pay off. Your donation will allow dancers to afford transportation to competitions, costumes, sets, props, and competition fees.
Thank you for your support!
