The Cal Poly Food Pantry needs your help! Demand is up— the Food Pantry is now serving approximately 4,000 students each week—up from 3,000 a week last year—with shelves often empty by noon. We need your help now more than ever to ensure Cal Poly students facing food insecurity have easy access to free groceries and fresh produce.
To address the current need, we've set a goal to raise $25,000 to provide much-needed funds to keep the pantry fully stocked with food for students. And we have exciting news — an anonymous donor will quadruple your gift to the Food Pantry with a separate quadrupled gift in your name to new Cal Poly Food Pantry Endowment.
What does that mean? For every $25 you give to fight hunger on campus today, our donor will give $100 to invest in the future of the Food Pantry, ensuring that this resource will always be there for students in need. Once our goal has been met, we will have raised $25,000 for current needs and our donor will gift $100,000 to the new Cal Poly Food Pantry Endowment for future needs.
Why an Endowment Matters
Endowments are powerful because they generate sustainable funding year after year. The principal of the fund is invested, and a portion of the earnings will be distributed annually to support the Food Pantry.

Cal Poly Food Pantry
It is estimated that approximately 39% of students experience food insecurity at some point during their career at Cal Poly.
To address this concern, Cal Poly established the Food Pantry, which ensures that all students have access to nutritious meals every day in order to stay focused on their success. The Food Pantry provides students in need with a wide variety of packaged and canned foods, frozen meals, fresh produce and groceries, and personal hygiene products. On-campus meal vouchers are also available for students who are in immediate need of a meal.
During the 2024-2025 academic year, the Cal Poly Food Pantry served over 80,000 student visits, which represents a 37% increase over the prior year.
