Help .RAW Journal of Art and Design Publish Student Work

.RAW Journal of Art and Design is a student-run magazine publication committed to creating a space where students in the Art and Design Department can publish their work. Highlighting photography, video, graphic design, studio art, and personal projects, .RAW aims to give students more opportunities to distribute their work to a larger audience.

Each year .RAW publishes 4 issues: 3 quarterlies and 1 annual magazine. Each quarter, we have a team working on the production of the magazine, a team working to promote .RAW on Instagram and around campus, and an events team that plans our fundraising events and launches. We aim to print at least 100 copies of each quarterly issue that we release for free around campus. In addition, we publish everything for free on Cal Poly Digital Commons. For our annual magazine, production is on a larger scale, and we distribute about half of these copies at Open House in the spring.

This coming year is especially imporant for .RAW because it marks the 10-year anniversary of the founding of our publication. To commemorate this achievement, we are producing an art book including works that span the 10 years of our publication. This book is completely student-produced, from designing to binding the book. This book debuted at Off Register, a book and print fair in Santa Barbara. We hope to be able to produce these special art books on a larger scale with the help of donor support.

Your donations will help tremendously with the production of our publications. In order to achieve our goal of spreading art, we would love to be able to print more issues of our normally scheduled magazine, in addition to our 10th anniversary art book that we have the amazing opportunity to create.
