Help Studio Art Students Put on an Art Exhibition in Downtown SLO

This project aims to bring student voices into the community through visual art. We are nine graduating seniors who have worked to develop our personal creative modalities of expression over our four years at Cal Poly. We have come together to form an artist collective in an effort to maintain our close connection and continue putting on shows together after graduation.

By taking the initiative to put on a group show, we will strengthen our professional portfolios, gain experience in show curation and production, and continue to foster our relationship as artists and colleagues for the future. Through various mediums and modes of art we strive to spark important conversations within San Luis Obispo and beyond.

Our purpose in raising money for this show is to secure a location in downtown SLO where these conversations can be held beyond campus. We plan to put on a group show in June 2026 so that locals and visitors coming for Cal Poly's Commencement can have access to art and see what the graduating class is capable of. Forming connections and facilitating relationships with the art community outside of the bounds of Cal Poly is incredibly important to us.

We want to be able to have a large space that can hold the amount of work we have spent the last year making, and accommodate those who will attend the show opening. We would love to be able to put on a show for you, and with your help, we can rent a space and advertise our exhibition! Follow our collective Instagram @bigartist.corp for updates regarding events, photos and videos of studio life, and artists' work.

Thank you for your support!
