Send Cal Poly Robotics Club to the Robotics World Championship!

We are the Cal Poly Gear Slingers, a Robotics Club team competing in the VEX U Robotics Competition. Each year, we design, build, and program two new robots for a completely new game, competing against nearly 300 university teams from around the world. The Gear Slingers have consistently ranked among the top teams, making it as far as the World Finals. This season, the team is on track for its strongest performance yet, with determination to bring the World Championship trophy back to Cal Poly. We need your help to get there!

So far this season, the team has earned 3 Tournament Champion wins, with an overall season record of 34 wins and 1 loss. We have qualified for the world championship and are continuing to upgrade our robots in preparation.

“We have put a lot of work into our robots this season.

We are ready to compete at the highest level.”

 project lead Garrett Schnack

This year, the World Finals are hosted in St. Louis, Missouri. Travel, registration, materials, and equipment costs make competing at Worlds a significant financial challenge for our team. Your support will directly fund transportation, lodging, and competition fees, ensuring our team can represent Cal Poly on the world stage. With your help, we can represent Cal Poly as a top competitive VEX U robotics team. Thank you for supporting the Gear Slingers and Robotics Club!
