Cal Poly is proud to welcome former foster youth into our community. These students have overcome significant challenges throughout their lives in order to arrive at college and we are asking for your help in giving these students a proper welcome.
It is our mission to ensure that every student feels as if they are a part of the Cal Poly family. Imagine if you or your student had to move into the residence halls on their own – without emotional or financial support. This happens every year to new Cal Poly students who come to campus from foster homes. While nearly every other student has family and friends who help them purchase items for their residence hall room, decorate it, and work together to make it feel like home -- former foster youth students often do not have this level of support.
Cal Poly Student Affairs aims to fix this by providing that much-needed support for the former foster youth students starting at Cal Poly this fall. Your contributions to this campaign will allow us to provide all the belongings these students both need and deserve. Help us ensure personal and academic success for these students and, most importantly, welcome them into the Cal Poly family.
